Otorhinolaryngology is a surgical subspecialty within medicine that deals with the surgical and medical management of conditions of the head and neck. ENT specialists are trained to manage diseases, tumors, trauma, and deformities of the head, neck, and face. ENT specialists can perform cosmetic and reconstructive surgery in these areas. They can also manage problems with the nerves in the head and neck.
Because of proximity to the brain and orbits we collaborate with Neurosurgeons and Opthalmologists during minimally invasive skull base surgery and endoscopic orbital surgery, respectively.
For Tumours in the head and neck area we work in a Multidisciplinary team with Oncologists, Radiologists, Nuclear Physicists, Maxillo-facial Surgeons, Plastic Surgeons, and allied health profesionals to both cure the patient of the cancer and rehabilitate them.
